CHILDREN WANT TO EXPLORE AND THE INVESTIGATE THE WORLD AROUND THEM.
Our Forest School sessions are a place of magic, self-confidence and friendship.
We aim to stimulate a child’s innate creativity and provide a learning environment that utilises their sense of touch, hearing, sight and smell. We’ll create opportunities for imagination and creativity to flourish along with developing their ability to problem solve, manage risk and working as a team.
We believe children are naturally inquisitive; they want to explore and investigate the world around them to make sense of it. Most recently, our biggest interest has been in exploring the potential of a puddle! We’ve tested our jumping skills whilst learning about texture, depth and temperatures of water. This has been a fantastic topic of conversation, leading to some sophisticated questions such as ‘Why does it only rain some days?’ and ‘How long does it take to make a puddle?’
We understand the importance of enabling children to play and learn in an outdoor environment where children are trusted to make safe choices themselves and use equipment that has potential risks. In the forest, every session can differ from that of before. All activities spark from the interests shown by the children; identifying mushrooms, creating a bug hotel, flying high on a tree swing and using nature to create artwork.
We, as adults, act as facilitators, allowing time for child led exploration at their own pace.
